Headless Zombies

"Inmate" or "Prison zombie"

Headless Zombies are enemies that can be fought only by Shadow Man at the Gardelle County Jail. They're also the only real enemies that are encountered in Liveside, other than the dogs and crocodiles.

They are inmates or prison guards who were formally caught up in a riot started by Batrachian, and killed after he systematically caused their heads to explode before resurrecting the corpses. Some can still be found alive within the prison. But, when they are startled by Shadow Man, their heads will explode and they will attack him on sight. They attack with ether shotguns or batons and can do quite a bit of damage.

They appear as lifeless corpses at first, and will spring to life when an intruder enters a specific area. They also utter a sick choking sound when nearby. Usually, they attack in large groups.

They come in three variants, but they differ only in appearance. These are regular inmates in dark blue prisoner uniforms, prison guards, and maximum security inmates who wear orange prisoner uniforms.

Trivia

• Even after defeating Victor, the enemies are still present and you can still see the living ones heads explode. It's unknown if Victor is responsible for them. It may also be possible that Legion is controlling those people after Victor got vanquished by Shadow Man.
